Department of
Acting
The department of acting was established and led by Tian Hua
(famous artist and honorary principal), Liu Yuansheng
(former deputy principal of the Central Academy of Drama)
and Teng Rujun (famous artist and best actor awarded by the
Golden Rooster). Teachers at the school include experts such
as Xu Min (associate professor at Central Academy of Drama),
Duan Chunqi (associate professor at Central Academy of
Drama), Song Shizhen (associate professor at Central Academy
of Drama) and Du Haiou (associate professor at Central
Academy of Drama). Acting is one of the earliest majors of
the school, and has developed into the key major at the
school. Dramas such as Country Boy, Face to Face and Door to
Door, Che Guevera, Environment of Xishan, Film, Animal Farm,
Hero, War and Brother, Van Gogh and Warrior produced,
directed and acted by the staff of students of the
department of acting have given public performances in
Beijing and even around China. Experts recognized that
“Beijing Shengji Art School is the cradle of new
experimental drama.” Country Boy was granted award in the
first publicity competition for Hope Project. Invested by a
Japanese company, Warrior was performed in public in
Beijing, Qingdao and Shanghai and was well received. The
department of acting has trained some young actors. For
example, Chen Shi has played the major role in over 10
movies and TV shows such as Struggles in An Ancient City.
Niu Liyan has played the major role in films and TV shows
including the Hot Girl and the Eightfold Path of the
Heavenly Dragon. Wang Hui has played the major role in King
of King and the Fairyland. A lot of young actors have been
emerging in the action drama have been trained by the newly
established major martial arts acting.
