Department of Dance

The department of dance was established and led by Jia Zuoguang (honorary chairman of China Dancers' Association), Li Yushan (vice chairman of China Dancers’ Association and former chairman of China Nationality Song & Dance Organization) and Pan Zhitao (professor at Beijing Dance Academy). Experts such as Jia Meina (professor of folk dance at Beijing Dance Academy) and Yi Guogang (associate professor at department of dance of Central University for Nationalities) have given courses. Masters in modern dance from Germany, Japan and Korea have taught at the school. One of the earliest majors of the school, dance has developed into the key major of the school and has been widely recognized at home and abroad. There are such majors in the department of dance as folk dance, modern dance, dance directing, dance model and international standard dance. In the World Culture Competition in Seoul, the delegation of department of dance was granted “World Peace Award.” Tang Yin won the golden prize for young dancers at the International Competition for Traditional Folk Dances held in Seoul in 2004, the golden prize at Beijing 9th Dance Competition as well as the silver prize at the Lotus Competition in 2005. Shengji art delegation gave special performances of folk dances in Washington, Atlanta and Charlotte in 2005, and was well received. Wuren Qiqige won the golden prize at Beijing 9th Dance Competition. Wang Na awarded the golden prize for professional group at Beijing 6th Dance Competition. Nadia was granted the special award at the Peach and Plum Cup Competition in 2000.
